INVESTING INTERNATIONALLY

The Australian share market accounts for less than 2% of total global share market capitalisation.

Whilst many Australian companies have high quality international operations, for example, BHP Billiton (BHP), Rio Tinto (RIO), Woodside Petroleum (WPL), Macquarie Bank (MBL), and the Westfield Group (WDC), the majority of the world's largest and most successful companies are listed offshore, such as Nike, Microsoft, Apple, Google, General Electric, Gilette, Coca-Cola, British Petroleum and Shell.

You can access global share market opportunities by investing in listed securities on most major international stock markets using Select Equities International Securities Trading Service.

Another effective way to gain an international exposure is by investing in Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs). If you would like to know more about investing in ETF's, including Select Equities fees and charges, you can download our International ETFs research or contact a Select Equities adviser.
